Description
We saw a lot of red brick structures on the Palatine Hill with some structures named and labeled, and many without identity. This structure was completely unique, and obviously of some formal purpose. I suppose given the length and shape one could make the leap to the athletic/gladiatorial venues we had seen, but I did not. The structures laid out in the grass impressed me as being of some religious significance. Its purpose was primarily athletic and impressive place that only an emperor of Rome could have built.
