Through his school my son was associated with Oxford University and one of it colleges, St. Cross. We spent an hour or so sitting inside the courtyard of the college which had two parts. These arches lead to the second part with a lush green lawn. I have since come to know that the flowers are wisteria. Unless you literally have a key (he did) or have paid to be on a tour visiting the inner court of these colleges is limited. It was a great pleasure to sit there and then just stroll around wherever I wanted. It was very quiet. It was just us.
My subjects are both natural and architectural. I am interested in textures and shapes and how light and shadow play on those objects often creating new ones. I use a Nikon D-800, and an iPhone 10s Max. I make every effort to compose in the camera and thus I crop infrequently. I use Lightroom, Photoshop & NIK to work with highlights & shadows which often brings out the elements in a photograph for which I have primary interest. I have no hesitation using any other tool if the results make the photograph work. My preference is to do nothing to a photograph presenting it as it was taken.
